April is shaping up to be the busiest month for prize home lotteries in a while. Three of Australia's biggest charity draws are closing within about ten days of each other, and between them the first prizes add up to more than $11 million worth of real estate, gold and cars.
That's not a figure plucked from thin air. Endeavour Foundation's Coolum Beach draw is worth $3 million. Yourtown's Eumundi hinterland property sits at $2.8 million. And the Mater Prize Home on the Gold Coast comes in at a hefty $5.68 million. All three close before April 20.
So if you've been vaguely meaning to buy a ticket in something, April is the month where you're spoiled for choice. But these three draws are structured quite differently, and the one that suits you depends on what you're actually after.
## Endeavour Foundation Draw 466: The One With the Gold Option
Closing date: 9 April 2026 First prize: $3 million (home or gold) Ticket price: From $10 Draw date: 16 April 2026
Endeavour's draw gives winners something most prize homes don't, a genuine choice. You can take the four-bedroom Coolum Beach house at 30 Banksia Avenue, which comes fully furnished with $10,000 in gold bullion on top. Or you can skip the house entirely and walk away with $3 million in gold.
Coolum Beach is one of those Sunshine Coast pockets that's gone from sleepy surf town to genuinely desirable over the past decade. The home itself is a four-bed, three-bath coastal number with the kind of open-plan layout that estate agents describe as 'entertainer's dream' and normal people call 'nice big living room.'
The gold option is what makes this one interesting though. Not everyone wants a house in regional Queensland, no matter how pretty it is. Taking $3 million in cashable gold means you pick where you live, what you invest in, and how much goes to the tax office on your own terms.
Every ticket supports Endeavour Foundation's work with people with disability across Queensland.
## Yourtown Draw 555: The Hinterland Escape
Closing date: 15 April 2026 First prize: $2,805,170 Ticket price: $15 Ticket cap: 500,000 Draw date: 17 April 2026
Yourtown's Eumundi property is the kind of place people on the Sunshine Coast actually fantasise about. It sits on William Road with hinterland views, a pool, sun-drenched terraces, and enough space to make your city apartment feel like a shoebox.
The total package includes the home, a furniture and electrical fit-out, $50,000 in gold bullion, 12 months of council rates and water, home and contents insurance for a year, and all transfer fees covered. So you're not winning a house and then scrambling to figure out how to afford the stamp duty.
The ticket cap matters. Yourtown limits each draw to 500,000 tickets, which is worth paying attention to. Compare that to some charity lotteries that sell millions of entries per draw and the arithmetic starts looking more favourable. At $15 a ticket, it's pricier than the Endeavour draw but the capped field is a genuine structural advantage.
Yourtown Prize Homes fund Kids Helpline, Australia's only 24/7 counselling service for young people.
## Mater Prize Home Draw 324: The Big One
Closing date: 20 April 2026 First prize: $5,683,882 Ticket price: From $2 Draw date: 23 April 2026
This is the most valuable prize home draw closing in April by a significant margin. The Mater package centres on a waterfront home at 76 Dipper Drive in Burleigh Waters, one of the Gold Coast's most sought-after pockets. Twenty metres of lake frontage, five bedrooms, three bathrooms and flowing living spaces that open onto the water.
On top of the house, the first prize includes a Land Rover Defender 110 S and $100,000 in gold bullion. The total package comes to just under $5.7 million, which makes it comfortably the biggest prize on offer this month.
And tickets start at $2. Two dollars. That makes Mater the cheapest entry point of any of these three draws. The trade-off is there's no published ticket cap, so you're potentially competing against a very large field. But at $2 for a shot at a waterfront Gold Coast home, a Defender and a pile of gold, most people aren't losing sleep over the odds.
Mater Lotteries fund medical research, equipment and patient care at Mater hospitals.
## Which One Suits You?
If you want flexibility, Endeavour's gold option is hard to beat. Three million in gold you can do whatever you want with, no strings attached.
If you want the best odds relative to ticket sales, yourtown's 500,000 ticket cap makes it structurally the most transparent of the three. You know exactly how many people you're up against.
If you want the biggest raw prize for the smallest entry cost, Mater is the clear answer. Five point seven million dollars for a $2 ticket is about as asymmetric a bet as you'll find in the legal lottery space.
And if you're the type who enters everything, April is going to cost you as little as $27 for a ticket in all three.
These are all registered charity lotteries run under state regulations, and every dollar goes toward causes that actually need it. Whether you end up with a waterfront mansion or a nice warm feeling about supporting disability services, medical research or Kids Helpline, there are worse ways to spend a tenner.
All closing dates are in April 2026 AEST. Check each operator's website for final ticket availability.
